Art Club with Ms Mary
Art Club with Ms. Mary provides entertaining and engaging education for all ages. We encourage students to overcome their limiting beliefs and bring their imagination to life while strengthening logical thinking skills, enhancing self-esteem, and promoting self-expression.
What We Do
Art kits and Art Project instruction packets are created and distributed to staff, enabling them to easily incorporate art into their programs at their convenience. Your staff has the option to create freely or to follow an art instruction packet, which includes all the materials needed for specific projects. The projects are tailored to suit your program and the age group of the students.
There are a variety of projects that explore art history, highlight famous artists, and focus on basic art techniques while challenging fine motor skills. Art reduces stress and boosts confidence, which can positively impact academic performance.
In-person art programming is available. We also organize art shows where students can proudly display their artwork at events attended by parents.
How We Do It
Art Club with Ms. Mary is open to all BACR students. We provide art kits for each class that include pencils, erasers, markers, crayons, glue, scissors, watercolors, and other essential materials for creating educational and engaging art projects. Additionally, we distribute weekly art project instruction packets that contain detailed instructions and any extra materials needed, such as origami paper and construction paper, to complete each project.
Where We Do It
Art Club with Ms. Mary is currently at nine schools and is looking to expand further. Our independent art programming makes it easy and accessible for everyone in your program. We also offer options for in-person art instruction, where a qualified art teacher visits your school site to lead fun and educational art classes.
Why We Do It
As an art educator in the Oakland School District, I've noticed that most schools lack the capacity to offer art classes regularly. There is a significant need for hands-on learning that art can fulfill. By providing students with access to art supplies, we can broaden their horizons while also offering much-needed stress relief. At the end of the school year, sites can either keep the art supplies for future use or gift them to students, which is an added benefit for those who do not have regular access to these materials.
