Camp Descriptions
The Greats - Campers will study five artists, creating art in each artist's unique style while learning about their lives and legacies. The artists we will explore include Banksy, Edvard Munch, Charles McGee, Piet Mondrian, and Keith Haring.
Lets Paint - Get ready to paint! Campers will spend the week exploring and discovering different types of paint and techniques. We will start with basic watercolor and tempera paints, then focus on ink wash, splatter painting, heavy body acrylic painting, shaving cream painting, ice painting, paint pouring, and paint spinning.
Mixed Media - The Mixed Media Camp is a new addition! Campers will combine materials such as markers, pastels, paint, stenciling, printmaking, and more. This camp encourages campers to explore texture, composition, and problem-solving.
The Art of Science + Engineering - We have decided to combine our two most popular summer camps. Students will conduct science experiments daily while learning various techniques to make things move. Campers will be challenged to think critically, explore, discover, and engage in hands-on STEAM-based learning.
The Art of Sculpture - Campers will explore sculpture using various materials, such as plaster of Paris, paper mache, clay, and wire. Sculpting is an excellent way for campers to experiment with different materials and techniques, as it can also improve their motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and dexterity. By working with unconventional materials, campers are encouraged to think outside the box and express their creativity.
Illustration & Comics - This summer, campers will join Ms. Mary for a new addition to Summer Camp, where they will learn basic illustration skills, story-boarding, and how to create their own characters. We will explore the history of illustrations and comics, introducing campers to unique styles while focusing on character design. By the end of the week, each camper will have created their own comic!
